PARISH LIFE
Many opportunities exist for us to serve God in ministering to others. Parishioners serve in a variety of capacities to support and lift each other up. At Holy Comforter, we participate in the following outreach ministries:
EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN
This group is open to all women of the parish and meets monthly on the second Monday of the month September through May. They reach out in many ways to the community. To learn more or become a part of ECW please talk to Shara Partin.
MEN'S BREAKFAST GROUP
Men’s Breakfast meets weekly on Thursdays at Twin Lakes. Each week one of our participants brings in a speaker to share their knowledge. We meet in person and we also over through ZOOM. To get the link or Twin Lakes address, join in or ask questions please contact Phil Savage.
SUNDAY HOSPITALITY
This group encourages parishioners to socialize either with lemonade on the lawn in the warm months or coffee in the parlor during the colder seasons at 11:30am following our late Sunday morning worship service. All are invited to join us. If you would like to help out, please contact Susan Ryan.
SUNSHINE COMMITTEE
The Sunshine Committee provides either a meal or funeral reception for bereaved families of Holy Comforter. They also provide a meal for parishioners who have been hospitalized. Contact Susan Ryan or Nancy Slott if you’d like to be a part of this committee.
BREAD MINISTRY
This ministry bakes bread and takes it to newcomers. To become involved a bread “maker or taker” get in touch with Nancy Slott.
THE MATURE VOICE
This fun group meets once a month for lunch on the fourth Thursday at 12:30pm at a local restaurant. Contact Chappy Moser to be added to the group’s email list to learn dates and locations each month.
PARISH HOME GATHERINGS
During the winter months, parishioners have the opportunity to be assigned a dinner group for a bounded period of time. It is a great time to get to know each other while also eating great food. These groups are organized by Jocelyn Safrit.
MONTHLY BREAKFAST COMMITTEE
Paused. This group provides a breakfast between church services on the 2nd Sunday of the month. We would love to have your help and see more faces at breakfast each month. Ask Elizabeth Hansen when it will begin again.
